I'm trying to figure out the best way to rivet the buckle end of a belt. I need to know if using a hand operated riveter (one that doesn't require punching holes first), along with cap rivets would work - the leather I want to use is fairly heavy. Yeas it will work! It will be slow though and lack in accuracy unless you pre-punch the belt end first. That could be accomplished with a 2 or better 4 ton punch press. Get a die made with 4 holes, one obi long hole for the prong and optionally a finishing cut for the end. Use a pilot die on your setting machine to get a rolled finish and drawn tubular rivets. Save your self the cap. That would be the cleanest and fastest way.If you need an automating foot operated riveting machine Check out my web-site at: www.machines4leather.com
